Betting Odds Explained in Birr
WinWinBet shows decimal odds by default. Multiply your stake by the odds to get the total return, which already includes your stake.
| Stake | Odds | Total return | Profit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 ETB | 1.50 | 150 ETB | 50 ETB |
| 100 ETB | 2.00 | 200 ETB | 100 ETB |
| 100 ETB | 3.20 | 320 ETB | 220 ETB |
| 50 ETB | 4.50 | 225 ETB | 175 ETB |
Lower odds mean the bookmaker thinks the outcome is more likely. Odds of 1.50 imply roughly a two-in-three chance, while 3.00 implies about one in three.
Odds are an opinion with a margin built in, not a promise. Favourites at 1.30 lose often enough to ruin accumulators every weekend.
How to Bet on Football: The Main Markets
| Market | You are betting on | Example |
|---|---|---|
| 1X2 | Home win, draw or away win | Saint George to win (1) |
| Double chance | Two of the three results | Arsenal win or draw (1X) |
| Over/Under 2.5 | Three or more goals, or two or fewer | Over 2.5 in Liverpool v Chelsea |
| Both teams to score | Each side scores at least once | Yes |
| Handicap | A team with a goal head start or deficit | Man City -1 |
Beginners usually find 1X2, double chance and over/under easiest. Leave correct score and player markets until you are comfortable; they pay more because they are much harder to hit.
How Does the Bet Slip Work?
The bet slip is the panel that collects your selections. With one pick it is a single; add more and it switches to an accumulator, with a tab or menu for system bets.
- Selections: each pick with its odds and a cross to remove it.
- Bet type: single, accumulator or system.
- Stake: the amount in birr.
- Potential return: stake multiplied by the total odds.
- Odds changes: a notice if a price moved since you tapped it.
Always read the slip once before confirming. The most common beginner mistake is a wrong stake or a selection tapped by accident.
On a phone the slip usually sits behind a button at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to open, check your picks, then close it to keep browsing.
Single vs Accumulator vs System

| Type | How it wins | Risk | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | Your one pick wins | Lowest | Beginners and strong opinions |
| Accumulator | Every pick wins | Rises with each leg | Small stakes, bigger payouts |
| System | Some combinations win | Medium | Covering one or two misses |
A system bet such as 2 from 3 places three two-leg accumulators from three picks. If one pick loses, one combination still pays, though you staked three bets.
Accumulator Bet Example
Take three picks at 1.45, 1.70 and 1.85. Multiplied together they give combined odds of about 4.56, so a 200 ETB accumulator would return about 912 ETB if all three win.
If any one loses, the whole bet loses. Three well-reasoned legs beat eight hopeful ones, however tempting the big number looks.

Accumulators also matter for the sports welcome package (200% up to the equivalent of €400), which is wagered 5x in accumulator bets with 3+ selections at odds of 1.40 or higher. The bonus guide explains it.
Pre-Match or Live: Which Should a Beginner Choose?
Pre-match bets are placed before kick-off, when prices move slowly and you have time to think. That makes them the better starting point.
Live bets are placed during the game, with odds changing every few seconds. They are exciting, but decisions made in ten seconds are rarely your best ones.
| Pre-match | Live | |
|---|---|---|
| Time to decide | Hours or days | Seconds |
| Odds movement | Slow | Constant |
| Good for beginners | Yes | After some practice |
Once you are comfortable with the slip, our live betting guide shows how in-play markets and cash out work.
What Happens After You Bet?
Open bets are listed in your bet history. When the match ends, the bet is settled automatically and any winnings are added to your balance.
Many bets show a cash out offer before the final whistle. Our live betting guide explains when that is worth using.
To take money out, you will need a verified account; see withdrawals.
Beginner Mistakes to Avoid
Pros
- Bet small while you learn
- Stick to leagues you follow
- Keep a note of every bet
- Withdraw part of any decent win
Cons
- Raising stakes after a loss
- Ten-leg accumulators every weekend
- Betting on teams you love regardless of form
- Buying "fixed match" tips on Telegram
Fixed-match sellers are scammers. Nobody with real inside information sells it to strangers for 500 birr.

Frequently asked questions
How do I bet on WinWinBet for the first time?
Register, deposit, open Sports, pick a football match, tap the odds, enter a stake on the bet slip and tap Place bet.
How do betting odds work?
With decimal odds, stake times odds equals your total return. 100 ETB at 2.00 returns 200 ETB, including your stake.
What is an accumulator bet?
A bet combining several picks. The odds multiply together, but every pick must win.
What is a system bet?
A set of smaller accumulators built from your picks, so you can still win something if one pick loses.
What is the minimum stake?
It is shown on the bet slip and can vary by market. Enter a small amount and the slip will warn you if it is too low.
Can I cancel a bet after placing it?
Usually not. Some bets offer cash out, which settles the bet early at the operator's current price.
Is single or accumulator better for beginners?
Singles. They are easier to understand and win more often, which helps you learn without draining your balance.
